Does Linux change graphics?

Novell has put at disposal of the open source community of Linux,a technology, called Xgl, turned to improve the quality and the graphic performances and Linux display.
In this Novell page a preview of the Xgl functionalities shows, between which effects applied of transparency to the windows of the applications, possibilities of miniaturizzare to the flight the reproduction of a display without losing frame, and a three-dimensional graphic interface to form of cube which he allows to keep sott’ eye up to 4 desktop.
From the beginning of January the code can be unloaded by the site of Freedesktop.org, the organization not profit which promotes the standard development for Linux desktop.
